Uè Uè Anagram block

Give your sound a questionable accent. Pick a few vowels, sweep between them, and suddenly your instrument has a lot more to say.

  • Full formant filter model for rich vocal character
  • Assign vowels to heel, toe, and optional midpoint positions
  • Shape each vowel with independent voice age and sex controls
  • Multi-wave LFO with tempo sync for rhythmic movement
  • Bipolar envelope follower for dynamic, expressive modulation
  • Dry/wet mix blends the original signal with the effect
  • Carefully tuned parameter ranges for musical, perceptual control
  • Zero-latency processing for immediate, real-time response
  • High-quality processing for smooth, artifact-free filtering

Expressive by design. Excessive by nature.

What if your wah implemented a full vocal tract model? What if you could pick vowel sounds at heel, toe, and mid positions? What if it could self-modulate too? Uè Uè is the answer to these questions.

From lungs to mouth

Regular wahs are built around simple resonant filters that boost a narrow frequency band and attenuate everything else. The pedal mainly moves this band across a pre-determined frequency range.

The human vocal tract is much more nuanced than that. It simultaneously enhances and attenuates multiple frequencies in different ways for each vowel sound. Complex behavior emerges from the interaction of the lungs, throat, mouth, tongue, jaw, and lips.

Uè Uè recreates that much more faithfully through a complete formant filter model, where you control vowel sound, sex, and age.

It simply makes your instrument talk, cry, speak, and scream. The crowd will feel it in their throat. Pro tip: try it it after your favorite distortion.

Pick your accent

Uè Uè lets you assign vowel sounds to heel, toe, and optionally mid positions, and performs intricate interpolation in between so that it never loses its vocal quality.

It can literally go yeah, whoa, aye, oi, aw, ew, yo... and wah of course.

Auto articulation

Control goes well beyond the obvious pedal position. Uè Uè embeds two sources of modulation to enhance articulation and movement: a multi-wave LFO with tempo sync and a bipolar envelope follower with independent attack and release controls.

The onboard LFO features skewable and morphable sine, triangular, and pulse waveforms, as well as random values. Furthermore, you can also control amplitude and bias, tempo sync from 4/4 dotted to 1/128 triplet notes, and phase sync. That gives you more options than you'll find in most synthesizers.

The envelope follower modulates the effective pedal position based on the level and dynamics of your input sound. The amount control is bipolar, which means you choose whether it moves the pedal towards the toe or towards the heel positions. Attack and release time parameters are separate and fully independent, and each covers a wide temporal range.

Sounds great, plays fast

Uè Uè is built to meet the highest sound quality standards while maintaining maximum playability.

Specifically:

  • Its near-linear operation generates no audible aliasing.
  • It adds absolutely no latency.
